Will the APT Tax work for a single state? I am running for state rep in Oregon and would like to know if the Automated Payment Transaction Tax will work in a single state. I have read the short version of the way the APT Tax System works and it is a wonderful concept but will it work on a smller scale such as just for the State of Oregon. When viewing the savings, from my calculations my current income of approximately $5,400.00 a month is taxes at 9% in Oregon. If I take the figure of 1.5% which was the calculation for the federal tax rate of 28% that being approximately three times that of the federal tax, I estimate that .05% APT Tax would be Revenue Neutral for Oregon. My tax savings would be $467.43 per month. This is something that I would like to bring to the floor of the Oregon Legislature if I am elected.
